CVIU is programmatically accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) .upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Cardiovascular Technology.

CVIU is licensed by the Alabama Department of Post-Secondary Education.
CVIU programs, curriculum, and facility are annually examined by ABHES, CAAHEP, and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education to ensure CVIU adheres to the highest educational standards.
In 2011, CVIU earned the Outstanding Achievement Award by ABHES for having no standards violations. Thus, granted accreditation for 8 years.
