Is the tuition the same for out of state students?
Yes, regardless of your residence or home the tuition is the same.

Are Pell grants available?
No. The school does not offer any Title IV funding.

Does CVIU offer student loans?
CVIU applicants can apply for SLM Financial (a Sallie Mae Company) educational loans. Contact a CVIU representative to find out more or go to SLMFINANCIAL.com.

Is CVIU VA approved?
Yes, CVIU is licensed by the Alabama Department of Education.

Is CVIU accredited?
CVIU is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau for Health Education Schools. Visit abhes.org or ed.gov.

Do I need a college degree to enroll?
No, if you do not have a college degree you need to have earned at least 48 college credits with a GPA of at least 2.5.

What courses should the 48 hours include?
Pre-requisite courses are Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Algebra, and a communications course.

Does CVIU offer any of these courses?
The school offers an A&P self-study course. Others courses may be taken on line if you can not enroll in traditional classroom courses.

Does my degree have to be in a medical or healthcare field?
No, but it is best if you have taken A&P prior to enrollment.

Am I a certified ultrasound sonographer when I graduate?
No. To become certified, or registered, you will need to apply to ARDMS or CCI. CVIU curriculum and instructors vigorously prepare you for the registry.

Do I need to be certified to be employed?
No, but this may soon change because many within medical diagnostics support certification for all positions.

What’s the typical income of an ultrasound sonographer?
An ultrasound tech earns an income comparable to a Registered Nurse.
